അടിമ കിടത്തിയ ഭാരതപൌരന്നുണരാന്‍
പുതിയൊരു പുരുഷാര്‍ഥത്തിനെ യാഗ-
പ്പുരകളില്‍ വച്ചു വളര്‍ത്താന്‍
പ്രപഞ്ചസത്യം ചിതയില്‍ കരിയും
ബ്രഹ്മസ്വങ്ങള്‍ക്കുള്ളില്‍
ദ്രവിച്ച പൂണൂല്‍ ചുറ്റി മരിയ്ക്കും
ധര്‍മ്മാധര്‍മ്മങ്ങള്‍
ചിറകു മുറിച്ചൊരു ഭാരതജീവിതമുണരാന്‍
പ്രകൃതിച്ചുമരുകളോളം സര്‍ഗ്ഗ-
പ്രതിഭ പറന്നു നടക്കാന്‍
പദ്മതീര്‍ഥമേ ഉണരൂ.....

Awake! Lake of the Sacred Lotus.
We meditate on the glory of that Being
Who has produced this universe;
May He enlighten our minds.
Awake! lake of the sacred lotus,
Awake! lake of the sacred lotus within,
Make your offering to the dawn
Emerging in the chariot of fire
Sing the sacred Gayathri
Make the celestial Ganges
Of divine music flow.
We meditate on the glory of that Being
Who has produced this universe;
May He enlighten our minds.
Within the palaces wearing
The morning sunrays on their forehead
Sacred pebble icons slumber to the
Chant of thousand divine names.
To awaken the citizen of Bharat
Who was enslaved to the Gods as a baby
To nourish a new concept of
Fairness, wealth, desire and salvation
In the venue of sacred sacrifice
Awake! lake of the sacred lotus,
Awake! lake of the sacred lotus within,
Make your offering to the dawn
Emerging in the chariot of fire
Sing the sacred Gayathri
Make the celestial Ganges
Of divine music flow.
Within the Brahmanic holdings
Where the cosmic truth burns on pyre
Dharma and Adharma die with
Their fraying sacred threads intact.
To awaken the life of Bharat
Whose wings have been clipped
For the creative genius to soar
As high as the walls of nature
Awake! lake of the sacred lotus,
Awake! lake of the sacred lotus within,
Make your offering to the dawn
Emerging in the chariot of fire
Sing the sacred Gayathri
Make the celestial Ganges
Of divine music flow.
We meditate on the glory of that Being
